When the going gets tough The Tough Get Going.

Hard times, stress, difficulties, and tragedies are all part of the spice of life. If life was a straight path with nothing to challenge and stretch you, you would never grow. It’s how we choose to deal with these things that make us the people we are. Good news is hard times don’t last forever. They are always temporary. Think of them as tools to transform and mold you into the person you are meant to be. They also force us to appreciate the good things we are blessed with day in and day out.

It’s not for you to worry about how you are going to get through, past, or over whatever it is that you are facing. What you should focus on is trying to figure out what you are to learn from it. I assure you there IS a gift, or maybe even many gifts to be gained in the pain and/ or suffering.

For example lets say you lost your job or got demoted for whatever reason. If you got demoted it would be easy to let anger and bitterness sink their claws into you. This would hurt you and the people close to you more then anyone else. Instead, the healthy thing to do would be to be grateful to still have a job at all. If you actually lost the job, it would be only natural for you to be upset, hurt, disappointed, or even angry at first. Those are all understandable feelings to have at first. But rather then of staying in a place of anger or resentment it is better to focus on the fact that maybe that particular job was not best suited for your gifts and talents. There is a job out there that needs you, your gifts and your talents more then the one you lost.

Keep your spirits up and keep a positive attitude. Know when one door closes another door opens. Don’t stare at the closed one so long that you miss out on the blessings in store for you!

Or lets say you go through a life altering medical issue that leaves you a different person then you were prior to. It would be very easy to see all you lost, but you have to focus on what you still have and what you gained. I promise you there IS something you gained from your situation. You can choose to get bitter or you can choose to get better. The easier road is to choose to get better.

In tough times you can curl up in the fetal position, close your eyes, and let life pass you by (because life stops for no one), or you can look deep inside where you will find the strength to get past, through, or over whatever you face.

Your body is a temple

The one thing that stays with us from birth to death is our body. It is our job to keep our bodies as healthy as possible. The better we take care of our physical bodies the better our bodies take care of us. We feel better inside and out. Scripture even stresses the importance of taking care of our body.

1 Corinthians 6:19:

“Do you not know that your body is the temple (the very sanctuary) of the Holy Spirit Who lives within you, Whom you have received [as a Gift] from God? You are not your own,

20You were bought with a price [purchased with a [a]preciousness and paid for, [b]made His own]. So then, honor God and bring glory to Him in your body.”

You have to eat the right foods to fuel your body, drink plenty of water and I don’t mean just any ol water. Even some water out there being consumed contains chemicals that are not good at all for you. The more of these chemicals you ingest the harder your body has to work to try and rid itself of them. Which is not easy work for your organs. Kidneys were not designed to rid your body of these kinds of toxins. It therefore can reflect in your energy being depleted and/ or you feeling otherwise sluggish in the short term, and more detrimental effects on your long- term health. Of course you should always know what is in your food! Most food on the market is loaded with toxic chemicals that have significant effects and are detrimental to your health and well being! See my earlier blog “What are you really eating for more in depth information. Avoid eating junk food, as it is exactly what it sounds like… Junk. Garbage in, garbage out! Besides when you take good care of your body with a good healthy diet you feel, look, AND function so much better! That is the goal right?

You also need to exercise properly. I know you’re probably saying to yourself “I don’t have time to exercise.” Or “I don’t think the food I already eat is that harmful, I don’t feel that bad.”

That’s is just not true. There is overwhelming evidence of the harmful effects of poor diet, nutrition, and exercise! Where as with proper diet, nutrition, and exercise your entire life is effected positively!

Chances are you’ve come to this blog because you are interested in your health and making some changes in your life. Taking your health, happiness, and success into you own hands. When wee take care of ourselves we feel good, have better health, more success in everything we set our minds to, and with all that we tend to be HAPPY! 🙂

Honestly, if YOU don’t take control of these things who will? It’s wonderful that you are here now! The next step is doing something to put what you know you should into action.

A man can loose ALL his money, his life savings in one day. But with hared work, dedication, determination, and consistency he can gain it all back, and then some.

If a man waist’s time he can never gain it back, it’s gone forever.

Your body is your temple. Don’t let one more day go by without taking the best care of yourself that you can. It may look impossible to you to get where you want to be. Nothing is impossible to those who believe! Every journey starts with a single step.

Making good choices

Healthy living is about making the best choices you can on a daily basis to support a healthy and happy life.

We are all faced with choices everyday. What to eat, what to do, where to go, whom to surround yourself with, and the beliefs we hold in our minds and hearts.

There is a high rate of preventable illnesses around the world, and unfortunately here in America where we have the best access to medical care people are getting sicker instead of better. There is a reason for this. Everyone is looking for a magic pill to solve his or her problems. Most people wait until they are feeling sick before they take their health seriously.

The sedentary lifestyle we have grown accustom to dose more harm then good for our health, physically, mentally, as well as spiritually. Most of us get up drive to work, sit at our desks all day, drive back home, plop on the couch because you feel too tired to do anything else, at least for a little while.

Things like Diabetes, High blood pressure, and Fatigue, are caused by Obesity and are just a few of the PREVENTABLE illnesses people can avoid or cure with proper nutrition, education, and some smart lifestyle changes or choices.

There are numerous illnesses that have simple fixes really. There is an answer for pretty much any and every negative your body experiences.

If you or someone you know has 10, 20, 50 or more pounds to loose it can be done! I know personally how hard it can be. There was a time when I was considered obese; I had very limited mobility because I was wheelchair bound, so it was very difficult for me to shed the weight. Not only that but because OF the weight I got tired and short of breath fairly easily… I dropped over 50 pounds over a period of time. I tried the crazy diets just like everyone, but they do NOT work, and are even detrimental to your health!

I do NOT advise anyone to go on any diet the promises you that you will loose a massive amount of weight in a few short weeks. It’s not healthy, you WILL gain the weight back and then some if you don’t do it right. A couple pounds a week is a good rate. You didn’t gain the weight in a few short weeks, so to expect to loose the weight in a few short weeks… And KEEP IT OFF… is not realistic.

Stress is also a big cause of sickness. You may not be able to avoid stress, but with the right coaching you can learn how to manage and cope with stress in a very healthy way.

What are you really eating?

Contrary to popular belief, you’re not what you eat, but what you eat is who you are…

Everything we put in and on our bodies has a direct effect on our health and wellbeing. We have to eat to survive and we all want to look, feel, and smell good. But have you ever tried to read the ingredient list on your shampoos, conditioners, other hair products, lotions, cologne, perfumes, etc? They are full of ingredients that have long and difficult to pronounce names. These are NOT things that our bodies are made to consume. The things you put on you skin (which happens to be the largest organ of your body), seep in and go directly into your blood stream. Have you ever wondered why you suffer headaches, body aches, tiredness, etc? Or why the cancer rate is so high now days? I’m no doctor, scientist, nor have I gotten my degree in nutrition yet, but it is alarming throws up red flags. If you’re like me you want to be as healthy and happy as possible. That starts with being informed.

In our world today we don’t get all the vitamins and nutrients we use to get from our diets. Sure we all know we should eat healthy and drink plenty of water… good water. But it’s not always easy to know what the right things really are. Most people are just uninformed.

Times have changed and due to the rise in demand for food across the board producers have had to resort to using a lethal cocktail of pesticides to control disease and insect attack.

Great news for their pockets perhaps, but not good news for your health. This is why you need to be informed of the advantages of organic food.
I bet you didn’t know that if you consumed an average apple you would be eating over 30 pesticides, even after you have washed it. So even if you’re juicing, watching fat and calorie intake you are still not getting the full benefit, unless it’s organic food you and your family are consuming.

The quality of food has definitely declined since the 2nd world war. For example, the levels of vitamin C in today’s fruit bear no resemblance to the levels found in wartime fruit.
Organic food is known to contain 50% more nutrients, minerals and vitamins than produce that has been intensively farmed.
You have to eat more fruit and vegetables (raw foods) now days to make up the deficiency, but unfortunately that means eating more chemicals, more detrimental affects on your health by eating something that should be good for you!
That’s not even taking into account the cocktail of anti-biotics and hormones that cattle and poultry are force- fed.

What do you think happens to those chemicals when the animal dies? It’s digested and stored in human bodies. Have you seen pictures of animals in extremely cramped conditions in battery farms?

It makes no sense to think that any animal kept in these conditions is healthy and produces high quality food.

I urge you to look into starting you and your family on an organic diet. It’s a start towards the health you deserve, and you are worth it!

There are many natural ways to heal, by eating and doing things that support the body’s natural healing and protective abilities you can be sure to live a very long healthy and happy life.

Who knew?

What burns calories, increases energy, calms and focuses your mind, improves digestion, and even rejuvenates your skin? Sounds crazy, but it’s just breathing. Breath deep. The body works like a fire, the more air you breath in the more calories the body burs, at the same time a good flow of fresh air will help keep both body & mind running smoothly & efficiently all day long.
